Austin police said a woman was sexually assaulted by a man around 4 a.m. Wednesday at the Marriott Hotel in South Austin.
Sgt. Richard Stresing said today that the suspect said something during the incident to the victim that made her believe he was a police officer.
Stresing said the assault happened at 4415 South Interstate 35, and the victim contacted police around 7 a.m.
There is not a suspect description yet because police are still investigating, Stresing said.
