Women Killed in Car Accident in Northwest Fort Worth

A Woman was killed in two-car crash in far northwest Fort Worth.

FORT WORTH -- A female driver was killed Monday morning after her vehicle was T-boned at an intersection in far northwest Fort Worth, officials said.

Police said that, at about 8:20 a.m., a man was driving a yellow Hummer south on Boat Club Road when he ran a red light and struck a Nissan 350-Z traveling east in the 7000 block of Lake Country Drive.

Sgt. Rodney Bangs, supervisor of the traffic investigation unit, said the woman driving the Nissan died at the scene. The driver of the Hummer was not injured.

Bangs said detectives are still investigating, and it is too early to tell whether criminal charges will be filed as a result of the wreck.

The woman’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
