A motorist died in a wreck that also sent a passenger to the hospital, Pasadena authorities said.
The driver apparently lost control shortly after 4:30 p.m. today while trying to enter eastbound State Highway 225 at Richey, Pasadena police said.
The car skidded on the wet pavement and was struck by a passing 18-wheel truck. The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A passenger in the car was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in unknown condition by Life Flight helicopter.
The accident and the police investigation has blocked all eastbound traffic along State Highway 225 at Richey.
