Houston Car Wreck Kills Teen

A 17-year-old girl died and three other people were injured in a wreck Sunday night in northwest Houston.

Police said the one-car crash occurred in the 6600 block of Carver about 8:30 p.m.

The victim was driving a blue Chevrolet Impala southbound on Carver when she lost control of the speeding car and it careened into a ditch, hit a concrete drainage pipe and flipped over, investigators said.

The driver, who has not been identified, was dead at the scene and her passengers, who also have not been identified, were taken to local hospitals. Their injuries and conditions were not known.
